A classic yacht model built in the style of late 19th century British builder’s mirror backed half hull models, shows this extremely detailed yawl with authentic hull design, topside details, and fittings, per its 2012 Newport to Bermuda Race configuration.

The yacht was designed by Olin Stevens, 1930, of Sparkman & Stephens Design No. 7, and it was built at Minneford Yacht Yard, City Island, NY 1930. Principle dimensions: LOA: 52’, Beam: 10’ 3”, Draft: 8’, Tons: 14¾.

The model is a plank-on-bulkhead hull construction with applied rails, individually planked deck, built-up deck furniture and numerous machined bronze fittings. The hull of basswood and birch ply, mahogany, boxwood, cherry trim & assemblies. Hull is accurately painted with both blue boottop and gold cove stripe. Polished aluminum backboard mirror, fitted into a custom designed solid stained mahogany frame, and a optional glazed cover with brass trim. Engraved brass plaque.
