The model is constructed with a wood core planked-over with bone all of which is pin fastened including the decking. It has solid bone masts with gold foil woolding bands & spars with stun’sail yards attached. This miniature model has retractable cannons on its main gun deck which operate via a small single cord hanging from the stern. Decorative carvings include simulated twisted rope detail on the rails, beakhead rails, and channels, with additional carvings at the bow and the stern gallery, including a full classical warrior figurehead. It is rigged with fundamental standing and basic running lines per the methods of the period. The model is mounted on two wooden keel supports resting on an original oval wood baseboard with edges planked in decoratively carved bone with a surrounding polychrome floral design. Custom fitted display case with the baseboard and glazed cover trim in matching rosewood, baseboard has a forest green leather top, with hand engraved sterling silver plaques.
