The third California and China trade clipper ship built at Portsmouth NH in 1851. She was built by Samuel Hanscom from designs made by his nephew Isaiah Hanscom. LOA: 185’; breath: 36’; depth 20’; 1066 tons. She was a successful merchant ship in both the Atlantic and Pacific trades and ending her days in the north west laying cable. The model’s hull is plank-on-frame construction with exposed framing on both port and starboard sides amidship. It is essentially all natural finish mahogany or basswood and includes all appropriate deck gear, fittings, and ship rig. It is mounted on two brass pedestals and presented on a recessed oval mirror & baseboard of solid mahogany with inlay satin wood banding and engraved name plaque. The glazed cover is trimmed in brass.
