Norwegian brigantine of 302 tons built at Laurvig and carrying Porsgrund on her stern as her homeport. Her registered dimensions were: length 110.7’, beam 28’, and depth 13.2’ Leon was later cut down to a schooner. Her end came on October 30th, 1915 when on a passage from Granton to Porsgrund with a cargo of coal, she developed an uncontrollable leak and she had to be abandoned, after 34 years of hard service. Provenance: Model won 1st place in the 1975 Long Island Ship Model Society competition.
