John Evans (1932 – )

Mr. Evans has made models since childhood and extreme miniature models since 1959 as a relaxing diversion from his job as a corporate public relations director. He has exhibited at the “Model Engineer” Exhibition on and off during the past several years. His construction methods and techniques emulate those of Donald McNarry and Derek Hunnisett with the varied use of holly, boxwood and copper wire being standard. His models are presented in both full-hull and waterline display and are properly encased. The case for the SULTANA, one of his recent models, shows the use of a rare wood “obeche” for the baseboard as well as the trim on the glazed cover.
