The first clipper ship constructed in East Boston, was launched October 5, 1850, from the yard of Samuel Hall and was built for A.A. Low & brother of New York for the China trade. The model is constructed of a solid wood hull with her rigging of thread and wire, sails of starched paper. A waterline model set in a plasticine sea with custom fit mahogany case with glazed cover trimmed in brass.
