Steam Pinnace
The steam pinnace was a highly successful concept from its introduction in 1867 to its general demise between the two world wars.  Royal Navy battleships carried two each of these boats, one of their roles being to provide training in command for midshipmen.  Being very fast and highly maneuverable, they were also used as offensive torpedo boats and Admiral's barges.   The model is constructed of a solid moulded hull, with moulded superstructures, mahogany wood trim and brass fittings and painted with a gloss finish per builder's model style.  Mounted on a mahogany baseboard, inner raised plinth with inlaid mirror, glazed cover trimmed in brass.
1/4" Scale, Class A,  Case: 17" L  x  9 3/4" H  x  6" W  (STM 2400)
